Dome Builds For The Future With Investment In New Space And Talent
Newcastle-based project and cost management consultancy Dome is entering an exciting new chapter in its journey as it moves into a new office space and expands its team.
Established in 2022 with just two founding team members, the business has since grown to a seven-strong team, recently relocating to the landmark Spire development in Newcastle city centre.
As Dome continues to deliver for an expanding and diverse client base across sectors including education, commercial property, residential, local government, leisure, industrial and heritage, it is also investing in the next generation of construction professionals.
The business has just welcomed two degree apprentices – Caeleb Collins as a Trainee Cost Manager and Paige Scott as a Trainee Project Manager – alongside Kyle Rogerson, a one-year placement student from Northumbria University, studying Quantity Surveying.
Speaking about the new appointments, Ross Hamilton, Director at Dome, said: “We knew we needed to grow the team last year as our workload increased, and initially set out to make a senior hire – but for whatever reason, we couldn’t find the right fit.
“As we considered other options, we were admittedly a little hesitant about bringing in apprentices or entry-level talent. There’s a common misconception that smaller or younger businesses can’t support that kind of development – but we’ve completely turned that idea on its head – and it’s been such a positive experience.
“Both Paige and Caeleb are incredibly enthusiastic, and we’re excited about the opportunity to train, support, and shape them into key members of the team we’re building here. The process of finding them was uplifting – we used the Government’s ‘Find an Apprentice’ service and were blown away by more than 120 applicants. We interviewed 18, and the level of preparation and enthusiasm across the board was exceptional. I’d absolutely recommend the process to any business looking to invest in its future.”
Caeleb and Paige are embarking on their careers in the construction sector with no prior industry experience. They will study online with the University of the Built Environment, working four days a week at Dome and dedicating one day a week to their studies.
Paige Scott adds, “I’m really excited to be starting out in such a supportive environment and learning about the industry while working on real projects. It’s a great opportunity to grow and contribute to something from the ground up.”
Kyle Rogerson has also joined the team, working part-time ahead of his upcoming placement year, building on earlier industry experience to gain wider exposure. He has already demonstrated strong potential for a successful career in cost management and with Dome.
This latest recruitment milestone marks a significant step forward in Dome’s growth journey.
Since launching three years ago, the company has achieved over 190% turnover growth, expanding from an initial year one client base of seven to now working with more than 20 clients across the North East and beyond.
With a solid track record, a growing reputation, and a commitment to doing the best for its clients, Dome is setting a strong foundation for its future – and for the next generation of built environment professionals.
